Learn more about SketchUp Africa

SketchUp, 3D modelling software, was originally developed by @Last Software in 2000, with a focus on architectural design. Its intuitive interface and “push and pull” methodology quickly distinguished it as an accessible tool for professionals and hobbyists alike, allowing users to create detailed 3D models with relative ease.

Google acquired SketchUp in 2006, integrating it into their suite of tools and further popularising it by linking it to Google Earth and the 3D Warehouse, a vast online repository of free 3D models. This move significantly expanded SketchUp’s user base and applications, making it a staple in industries ranging from architecture and interior design to video game design.

In 2012, Trimble Inc. took over the reins, continuing to develop SketchUp with a strong emphasis on advanced technological features and expanded usability. Today, as SketchUp’s distributor in Africa, we are proud to bring this versatile and powerful tool to professionals across the continent, offering a platform that supports creativity, efficiency, and collaboration in a wide range of industries.

Using SketchUp Scan to Design was a game-changer for my projects! The ease of scanning real-world objects and integrating them seamlessly into my designs saved me so much time. The interface is user-friendly, and the accuracy of the scans is impressive. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to level up their design process!
